India batsman Shreyas Iyer was added to the Mumbai team on Tuesday in preparation for their upcoming Ranji Trophy match against Andhra, which is scheduled for January 12–15. After experiencing significant difficulties with the bat in the difficult conditions of India’s two-match Test series in South Africa, the right-handed batsman will be hoping to get back into form and strengthen his preparations for the Tests against England, which start on January 25. Sarfaraz Khan, a middle-order batsman, has been replaced by Iyer.
Khan will go with the India A team to Ahmedabad for the series against England A. All-rounder Shivam Dube, however, will not be available for Mumbai due to his call-up to the national side for the forthcoming three-match series against Afghanistan, which begins on January 11.
Mumbai, the 41-time Ranji Trophy winners, recently defeated Bihar in Patna by an absolute score.
Mumbai’s quick bowlers ruled the roost as they destroyed Bihar by an innings and 51 runs, earning seven points.
Ajinkya Rahane (captain), Shreyas Iyer, Jay Bista, Bhupen Lalwani, Amogh Bhatkal, Suved Parkar, Prasad Pawar (wk), Hardik Tamore (wk), Shams Mulani, Tanush Kotian, Atharva Ankolekar, Mohit Avasthi, Dhaval Kulkarni, Royston Dias, and Sylvester Dsouza are the Mumbai team.
