Remember she still latched onto the ‘Edwards’ back then? She absolutely refused to dance. Just imagine her furrowed brow and crossed-over arms, threatening to leave the band if she had to count, “5… 6… 7… 8!” The theatrical facial expressions never match the sparkling getups, but you got the picture. Our adorably spirited blonde, whose perfectly streamlined SingStar vocals can be heard over in Africa, didn’t make choreography her cup of tea until now… Can we all raise our pinkies for how far she’s come?
Because upon dipping our teabags into the mix, we’re queuing the vibrant crimson lights and various dance circles (it all clicks when you realize this fiesta is choreographed by pop-infused Christin Olesen, who’s transformed Kylie Minogue into a glittering flamingo!). Each arm link playfully nods to the casual dating pool Perrie did laps in way back before she tumble-turned over to become engaged with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The bold song title, ‘You Go Your Way,’ is likely our go-to whenever someone asks for directions. It probably started off as a playful jab being thrown at him! Talking about the trepidation before a couple becomes official, but thankfully, we all know how their story ends. And we didn’t need a set of tarot cards to do it! Anyway, it’s got this big dance break that the internet will not stop claiming as her ‘Espresso’ moment, and we understand why. We always preferred tea!
‘You Go Your Way’ Upon Realising Us Doing Karaoke Isn’t A Vibe
So yeah, this dance routine that we’re still absolutely flabbergasted about—seriously, Perrie knocked it out of the park—is pirouetting its way into every space of the internet! Older couples are hip-locking like they’re at the club, social media influencers ensuring their moves have their own verified tick, and even being recreated in the drunken rooms of karaoke bars. Perrie hosted the launch party against a lyric-gifted screen, inviting fans and including her own mama along, who, from just a blink, clearly handed down her vocal pitch to her daughter. So why not host our own? And honestly, at least this way, Perrie won’t liken us to nails scratching against a blackboard.

With its checkered board tiles and street racing-esq exterior, Ace Cafe London was the total vibe for the ‘You Go Your Way’ music video! So why not gather up your leather-bound friends and hop onto a motorcycle to your local dive bar? Or, since we also love the urban nightfall, turn your backyard into a singing terror with just a touch of the crimson lighting we referenced earlier for a spooky flair.
We’ve heard of silky honey teas when our fave’s vocals spring into a frog’s toad. While we’re not leaping onto stage anytime soon, who are we to say we’re any different? Our vocals need to be in tip-top shape for our next rendition, you see? To borrow a reference from the tune, stylize your mocktails and munch snacks around its lyrics. “Five years?” more like five-cheese queso! Or “‘Cause I’ll be smiling” with this Mango Mule? Don’t awkwardly sip from your straw now; let us know which delicious menu items you can come up with!
