State Champs just released a new album and went on a tour with it, and we caught their show in Anaheim! With the support of Daisy Grenade, Meet Me @ the Altar, and Knuckle Puck, this is probably the greatest tour that has happened this year!
Daisy Grenade
Two of our favorite girlies in the pop-punk industry kicked off the night! They sang their newly released single, ‘How to Hide a Body,’ as well as some of our other favorite hits, ‘Hypocrite‘ and ‘Riot.’ The girls looked absolutely fabulous and flawless as always! We would just like to point out that these were probably some of the best outfits Dani and Keaton have worn (so far) on this tour!

Meet Me @ the Altar
Another female-fronted band on this tour for the win!! MM@TA has been on our need-to-see-again-live list for a while now and what better way than on this tour! Edith, Ada, and Téa rocked the house, getting allll of the crowd-surfing for the night started! With hits like ‘Say It To (My Face)’ and ‘Hit Like a Girl,’ how could we not be singing and dancing our hearts out?!

Knuckle Puck
Weird to see these guys on a tour without Real Friends, but– that’s besides the point! Knuckle Puck showed up like they always do. These guys are some of our favorite midwest emo boys and we could not have asked for a better tour to see them! Kicking off their set with ‘Want Me Around,’ KP had us hyped and hooked. We still hadn’t even gotten to the main act of the night and we were already reeling from the various emotions KP had put us through. Gosh– we LOVE pop punk!

State Champs
Last, and certainly not least, we got to see State Champs. After announcing this tour, the band released their fifth studio album, State Champs. We barely even had a chance to process the album coming out before we were standing only a few feet away from this band, singing along to an entirely new album. NOT ONLY THAT, but they sang some of our favorite songs from past State Champs albums and our hearts couldn’t stop skipping beats from how happy we were!
We got to hear some of our favorite songs like ‘Light Blue,’ ‘Tight Grip,’ and ‘Save Face Story’ live for the first time ever! We love this band and we miss them so much! We hope to keep seeing this band for years and years to come.
And of course, we crowned Ryan Scott Graham as “Best Dancer of the Night”!
