The first match of the 5-Test Border-Gavaskar series between India and Australia is being played today at the Optus Stadium in Perth. India won the toss and chose to bat first. However, India had a poor start as opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed early, followed by Devdutt Padikkal, who went out without scoring. Virat Kohli contributed just 5 runs. The highest scorer for India was debutant Nitish Reddy, who made 41 runs, followed by Rishabh Pant with 37 runs. Unfortunately, none of the Indian batsmen managed to score a fifty, and the team was bowled out for 150 runs.
