CNN host Brianna Keilar pilloried Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman for his past prediction that President Biden would never pardon his son, Hunter, even forcing him to sit awkwardly through video of his own comments.

As you’re likely aware, President Biden issued a pardon for the First Son that is so broad and sweeping that experts say they haven’t seen anything like it in generations.

The pardon was “full and unconditional,” echoing one of the most controversial presidential acts in American history—Gerald Ford’s pardon of Richard Nixon.

Keilar accused Goldman of going “out on a limb backing up Biden when he said that there would not be a pardon” and then played the clip proving it. All while leaving Goldman’s mug up on the screen so everybody could see his reaction.

Dan Goldman To Biden’s Defense On The Pardon

Rep. Dan Goldman predicted Biden would not issue a pardon for his son in part because he’s not an autocrat like Donald Trump allegedly is.

“I don‘t think there‘s any chance that President Biden is going to do that, unlike his predecessor, who pardoned all of his friends and anyone who had any access to him,” Goldman says in the clip. “And I think you see that in this case where he kept on, and Merrick Garland kept on a Trump-appointed U.S. attorney to investigate the president‘s son.”

“If there is not an indication of the independence of the Department of Justice beyond that, I don‘t know what we could look for.”

After watching Goldman uncomfortably stare ahead as his words played, Keilar responded with some ‘lying down on the couch’ psychoanalysis of the congressman.

“What does that feel like?” Keilar asked. “Watching yourself back then reassuring people that Biden was not going to issue a pardon for his son.”

Tried Talking His Way Out Of It

Goldman predictably tried to squirm out of the situation by falsely suggesting he made the comments before the plea deal for Hunter had fallen through. Keilar, though, corrected him and again prodded Goldman over his past comments.

“You know, you took him at his word, so what does that feel like, knowing that he‘s gone back on it?” she asked.

Goldman has vigorously defended President Biden for issuing the pardon, but it’s a mystery why. Hitching one’s cart to that feeble horse is entirely unnecessary. There are no benefits to being a Biden sycophant any longer.

But then, he’s always been like this. Goldman, after learning that Joe had, in fact, discussed business dealings with his son – including talking with his business associates – despite denying it for years, insisted the President only talked about the weather.

He’s been a good little lapdog.
