Gurugram: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a ‘Maharatna’ Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Power, has signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Haryana State CSR Trust to fund the construction of a 100-bedded girls’ hostel and a teaching block, and supply of IT, medical, music equipment at Government Girls College, Sector-14, Gurugram.
The MoUs were signed in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Union Minister of State (IC) for Statistics and Programme Implementation Rao Inderjeet Singh and Haryana Minister for Industries and Commerce Rao Narbir Singh. POWERGRID’s Director (Personnel) Dr Yatindra Dwivedi, Executive Director (Corporate Communications & Law) Adish Kumar Gupta, and Executive Director (CSR) Jasbir Singh, were also in attendance along with other senior officials from the PSU, the state government, and the Gurugram district administration.
The MoUs were signed by AK Mishra, GM (HR-CSR), NR-I, POWERGRID, and Ajay Kumar, DC cum Jt Secretary, Haryana State CSR Trust.
These initiatives, with an estimated cost of Rs 20.38 crore for the girls’ hostel, teaching block and supply of equipment, will be a significant step towards promoting women’s empowerment and improving educational infrastructure for girls in and around Gurugram.

With the adoption of the latest technological tools and techniques, enhanced use of automation and digital solutions, POWERGRID has been able to maintain an average transmission system availability of more than 99.80 per cent.
