She’s been around for a while. However, this year she became one of the most versatile artists of the decade with her album The Rise and Fall of A Midwest Princess. 2024 was by far Chappell Roan’s year. Looking back at the beginning of the year, we couldn’t be prouder of her success. After all, the singer has shown us that the secret to success is being authentic. Let’s take a trip down the memory lane, play ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ and get ready to see how Chappell is the ‘Femininomenon’ of the year. This is Chappell’s Roan Music Rewind!

There was only one artist who made us learn the choreography of ‘HOT TO GO!’ and took us to the ‘Pink Pony Club,’ and by no means is she a ‘Guilty Pleasure.’ The concept of pop diva got redefined this year, with Chappell taking over the world with her uniqueness.

The Midwest Princess Tour

Chapel began this year with her solo tour, The Midwest Princess Tour, in which she performed her album, The Rise and Fall of The Midwest Princess. The shows were glamorous, full of drag and extravaganza! But let’s be honest; we wouldn’t expect less from her. After all, we are talking about an artist who has an aesthetic that is out of the ordinary and that challenges the standard concept of pop. On the other hand, we can’t help but talk about Chappell’s breathing voice. With some raspy undertones and a tone that touches the soul, she has a distinctive voice that makes her stand out in the music industry.

‘Good Luck, Babe!’

The song that changed Chappell’s career forever. In a world that never stops, having a song like ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ felt refreshing, since Chappell proposed something new that represented her as an artist. For us, this is one of the best tracks of the year, and we are glad that many people got to hear Chappell because of this song. It has ’80s vibes but with a modern touch. However, the best part is the lyrics and what they represent for the LGBTQ+ community. Chappell also performed the song multiple times, and again, if the recorded version sounded good, it was even better live!

VMAs Performance

Imagine you could become a medieval knight or Joan of Arc for a night, with a castle on fire and a sword. Chappell did exactly that in her VMAs performance. The ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ performance began with the singer shooting a crossbow and lighting up the stage! The dancers were knights as well. However, Chappell looked like she stepped out of a fantasy book we would love to read. Also, her stage presence was showstopping because she didn’t only sing but also gave a theatrical performance. We have to say that Chappell had a marvelous performance that will be forever in the VMAs history as one of the best! If this was an award ceremony, we can’t help but feel chills at what she could do in an arena tour.

Saturday Night Live!

Chappelle made her first appearance as a music guest this year on SNL. In an Instagram post, she stated this was one of her dreams. The singer performed ‘Pink Pony Club’ dressed as Frankenstein bride, and the live vocals, again, impacted us. Nevertheless, the moment that stole the performance was almost at the end, when the public and the backup singer sang to Chappell, making her debut a special one. We can’t forget that she also performed a new country song called ‘The Giver.’ This shows us how well Chappell’s voice adapts to different genres, such as Country.

The GRAMMYs

Hard work pays off, and after a long career, Chappell got six nominations for the Grammys! On one hand, The Rise and Fall of the Midwest Princess got 3 nominations, including album of the year. On the other hand, ‘Good Luck Babe!’ also got 3 nominations, including Song of the Year. It would be amazing not only to see Chappell win, but also perform in the ceremony. If anyone in the Recording Academy is reading this, take it as a public petition…

2024 was a fantastic year for Chappell, and we are sure 2025 will be even better! Our guess? Maybe she’ll drop a new album, since back in October, she gave us a hint of it. But if a fan has one thing, it is patience. No matter how long it takes, we will be ready for new music. While we wait, keep listening to The Rise and Fall of The Midwest Princess and, why not?
