Liverpool enjoyed a great weekend of results but that won’t stop the constant contract talk from continuing and Robbie Fowler has provided his thoughts.

Speaking on Amazon Prime Video Sport with Ben Foster, the Scouser said: “I do have a little theory actually and I don’t know if this is so far from the truth.

“I just think two of them have signed already you know, for some reason and maybe one hasn’t.

“But a simple fact that the club can’t come out and say, ‘Youse have signed’ because it makes the other one look worse.

“I think there’s a possibility that may have happened, does that make sense?

“Because I think if two of them sign and then they come out and say, ‘Oh we’ve signed,’  it puts so much pressure on the other one, doesn’t it.”

It’s nothing more than a theory which isn’t supported by anything but a hunch from our former striker but it does make sense.

The future of Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold remains unclear

By having three men to point your wishes and/or frustration on, it makes the conversation always move target and stops one player from being the centre of all talk.

Some of the latest reports surrounding the trio sees rumours that our captain has already committed his future to the Reds, backing up this opinion from the Toxteth Terror.

Links to Saudi Arabia have resurfaced around our Egyptian King and so his future remains up in the air at this stage.

Whereas our vice captain is repeatedly linked to Real Madrid and this story continues to rumble on in columns around Europe.

If this theory from the 49-year-old was correct, you would assume that his fellow Scouser is the one man who hasn’t sorted his future yet but only time will tell if this proves to be correct.
