Many of our favorite memories are made with music by our side. Someone who always curated our memories was Mac Miller. Even though he’s no longer with us, we’re still listening to his music and remembering our favorite Mac moments through his powerful lyricism.

His latest post-humous project, Balloonerism, reminds us just why we love Mac so much, and just why we miss him so much. To celebrate his beautiful life and his music, here are our favorite lyrics from the new project.

“Her mind’s always dirty and her soul’s never free/She never been a groupie/She just in love with the music”

Mac hit the nail on the head with this one. All life is really about is living in the moment and enjoying the music. What more could we want? ‘Stoned’ is one of those songs off the album that really makes us feel validated.

“She don’t know she slept through the future/Missed it, it was yesterday”

Since the album’s release, ‘5 Dollar Pony Rides’ has been gaining popularity, and for good reason. The lyrics are beautiful and this song truly reminds us just how amazing of a writer Mac really was.

“And if love is just a fantasy/Then what’s the problem if you fall in love with fantasy?”

Every time we listen to a Mac Miller song, we are brought into our favorite musical fantasy land. ‘Friendly Hallucinations’ stuck out to us on this album because it allows us to live freely in the fantasy land for a full 4 minutes and 45 seconds. Who else is in love with a fantasy?

“Cause when the snakes start slitherin’, you spot the chameleons/You realize you surrounded by reptilians”

Mac has always had a way of exposing the real world in his songs. ‘Funny Papers’ does just that and is definitely a standout of the album. We keep coming back to these lyrics day after day!

“The lake’s frozen over, look down at yourself/What’s starin’ back doesn’t please you”

‘Tomorrow Will Never Know’ is Mac at his finest. Sometimes we need music to tell us the ugly truths about ourselves that we refuse to acknowledge. Mac’s songs have a great way of doing this and the lyrics in this track are just what we needed to hear.
