When it comes to AB6IX‘s music, there are simply no skips on their discography. The work put into their songs is notable from the production to execution, so it is no surprise that we are always on the lookout for their next releases. If you follow the group, you know that the members constantly take part in creating their music. In particular, much of AB6IX’s discography features DAEHWI as a producer: be it by being involved in the writing or composing, he gives his best to showcase AB6IX’s colors. And he does it so seemingly effortlessly.
We tried narrowing down some of our favorite tracks that DAEHWI brought us (thank you!) We know we say this often, but hear us out: it was truly hard to make this list. When we’re hooked on so many titles, how are we supposed to have it easy when choosing just a couple to highlight? But we had to try and give DAEHWI the attention he deserves, not just as an artist but as a song creator, as well.
‘VIVID’
We’re starting off with a lively piece, a charm we are used to seeing from AB6IX and one we strongly love. And one of our favorite parts in ‘VIVID’ just happens to be DAEHWI’s “You gotta love yourself you know. No matter what they say just go. You’re just too good to be true oh” The encouragement to embrace and love yourself is a concept we really appreciate, so it is no wonder this is one of our favorite AB6IX tracks. Do you feel inspired to show the world your own vivid colors, yet?
‘A LONG WINTER’
We wanted to show DAEHWI’s genius producing skills the best we could, and what better way than choosing diverse sounds and messages? Between the more upbeat, happy songs, we wanted to include a more sorrowful track. And with how beautiful ‘A LONG WINTER’ is, we felt this was the right pick. The way the feeling of a breakup is compared to being stuck in the coldest of the four seasons is a beautiful comparison. DAEHWI gave us a song full of sensibility without compromising AB6IX’s style in any way, and all we can do is appreciate it.
‘BREATHE’
It is impossible to not mention AB6IX’s iconic debut title track, ‘BREATHE.’ DAEHWI took part in writing and composing a very meaningful song for all fans, as well as for the group itself. It doesn’t matter how much time passes or how many times we listen to ‘BREATHE.’ It will always hit just right and will forever be at the top ranks of our favorite AB6IX songs.
‘KILL ME’
When AB6IX makes special solo tracks, we will talk about them over and over. Why? Because they’re that good. And DAEHWI really shines in every aspect that we want to highlight: artist, idol, producer, performer. ‘KILL ME’ is not the only solo track that showcases all of these sides, but it is one that shows growth, maturity, and quite the compelling charm that we easily fell for.
We really wanted to include basically every song by DAEHWI produced for AB6IX. But we tried our best to behave and put four in the spotlight. And there are so many to discover, or, if you already know them, to keep appreciating them. We will never get enough of AB6IX’s title tracks that the youngest produced, such as ‘BLIND FOR LOVE,’ ‘CHERRY’ and ‘NVKED.’ But DAEHWI makes sure that the B-sides he makes are just as impressive, like ‘Sucker for your love,’ ‘RED UP,’ ‘TRAVELER,’ and ‘In My Vein’ to name a few. And, of course, we also love his solo songs that show us a little more about his own style, with ‘ROSE, SCENT, KISS’ having a special place in our hearts.
