Estéreo Picnic Festival is finally here, and the best four days of the year will be insane. We have to say the lineup for this edition is making dreams come true. Let’s get things straight: if you like pop music, the lineup is like getting the toy you always dream of on Christmas mornings. If you don’t know what FEP is, let us enlighten you. Argentina, Chile, and Brazil got Lollapalooza, but Colombia said, “no, thank you; let me do my own thing.” That’s how the country got its very own festival, and it’s one of the most important and influential music events in the region. Of course, there are some differences between festivals; the main one is that Estéreo Picnic is four days long instead of three. How cool is that!

This year, Shawn Mendes, Alanis Morrisette, Tool, Olivia Rodrigo, and many more artists are taking over Bogotá. Since we can’t wait and don’t want you to miss the experience, here are seven songs we need to hear live at Estéreo Picnic Festival.

Revolving Door’ by Tate McRae

Tate ate with this song, and hearing it live would be like entering a fever dream. The track has a driving downtown vibe that fits so well with Bogotá’s nightlife! Also, the queen of dancing demonstrated in the music video of the song that the single was born to be performed on stage. We are sure that if Tate performs, it will be a performance for the history books of the festival.

Perfectly Wrong’ by Shawn Mendes

Listen, we know that asking this is a delusion. But hearing this song live is not a petition, is a need. ‘Perfectly Wrong’ is a broken heart ballad that the loudest audience in the world needs to scream and cry to. Since it is Shawn’s first time in the country, having the song performed would be a core memory for the fans. They’ve been waiting for him for years now!

Jealousy, Jealousy’ by Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia did not perform in Colombia, neither in the Sour nor the Guts tour. That’s why we demand justice for ‘Jealousy, Jealousy.’ Every inner teenager has related at least once to the track’s lyrics. Adolescence is a tough time, so with songs like this one, we feel seen and understood. Also, the track was made to be screamed by a large mass of people. What better place to do so than a festival with Liv as a headliner?

Midnight Love’ by girl in red

The lyrics of the song hurt deep down in the heart. This track is the perfect one to hear in the middle of a cold night or to dance under the stars. Lucky for girl in red, Bogotá is freezing right now and the city is also 2600 meters closer to the stars. Here, we are offering a scene from a coming-of-age movie. The main characters within us need to hear this song live.

Pa´ Dónde Se Fue’ by Mon Laferte

At the end of the day, we are not only in Latin American but also in the Andes mountain range. That means we need music with Andean sounds. That’s why Mon Laferte ‘Pa’ Donde Se Fue’ is the best choice. The song tells the story of a father who’s absent. We think that performing this song for such a large audience is important since many people grow up without a father figure. With this song, they feel seen. Hearing music live is a way of catharsis. That’s why this song should be performed at the festival.

We Are The People’ by Empire of The Sun

We are sure the band will perform the song; however, we had to put it on our list. The track is perfect for any festival since it has the groovy feeling that we all love. Just imagining hearing it live gives us chills, especially since they performed at night. At night time everything feels magical. We can’t wait to feel like we are part of an edit made by a 13-year-old girl who just discovered CapCut. If you want to be part of the magic, get your tickets; there’s still time!

Do you really think that we are going to talk about a Colombian festival without naming any local artists? Ela Taubert is a phenomenon that no one saw coming but is here to stay and for good. Remember how we told you about how music is a way of catharsis? Well, if you recently went through a breakup, we feel you, and also this song was made for you.
