Alternative rock band, The Head And The Heart have been killing it over well over a decade. And we’re proud to say that we’ve been stans for years! We’re so stoked because The Head And The Heart’s new album, Aperture is set to be released on May 9th. You can pre-order and pre-save the album now! We’ve been absolutely obsessed with their most recent single, ‘After The Setting Sun.’ We’re so grateful to have attended the press conference where the band talked all about their brand new album! Let’s go over some of the highlights.
How Their Collaborative Process Has Evolved
Throughout their almost 15-year career, THATH has released 5 amazing studio albums. We know that processes can change from album to album, so we were excited to hear the answers for this one. Tyler said that they were “working in a spontaneous way,“ and Charity said that they were “getting to that raw and pure point, as a band.” From what we’ve heard from the singles, this has worked for them because we love each one, and we’re excited to hear the rest!
What Gives Them Hope?
They’ve said that Aperture is all about hope. So, we had to ask: what gives them hope?
Tyler: “Spring… and the idea of renewal.”
Kenny: “All of this,” referring to the press conference and outlets asking questions about the band and their upcoming album.
Matty: “The babies in The Head And The Heart,” since he and other members of the band now have kids!
Charity: “Springtime” and “this record specifically, though, we almost called this The Head And The Heart 2, like this is the rebirth of this band.”
Jon: “Community” and “being less egocentric.”
Their Upcoming Tour
To celebrate the release of Aperture, they’re going on a headlining tour! It kicks off in Detroit on May 31st and wraps up in Knoxville on October 10th. When asked what song they were most excited to play live from the record, they had various answers!
Tyler: ‘Jubilee’ because of the pop-punk vibes.
Kenny: ‘West Coast’ because he sings on the track!
Charity: ‘Aperture’ “since we haven’t touched it since recording it.”
Matty: ‘Aperture’
Jon: “I haven’t been this excited for a new record in a long time.”
