pedro pascal as reed richards writing on a chalk board

Smart guys are hot, especially ones who lead with compassion and can stretch really far to get you stuff off the top shelf. And if there is one thing we know about Reed Richards, we know he’s going to be hot.

There are a lot of qualities about Reed Richards that are hot naturally. He’s smart, he has a graying temple, and he has a curl right at the top of his head. Beautiful, no notes. But Pedro Pascal’s take on the characters has an added bonus: A lot of guilt about what his team brought back to earth with them.

The lore goes like this: Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm all go on a space flight together and cosmic rays give each of them unique powers. Reed can stretch really far, Sue can turn invisible, Johnny catches on fire, and Ben is a pile of rocks now. Their powers are unique but their bond as a family is what makes this team so special. Johnny and Sue are siblings, Reed marries Sue, and Ben is a close friend to the entire group.

So Reed Richards having guilt that alien beings are coming to earth after their trip isn’t exactly surprising but it does make him hotter. I’m just saying, there’s nothing quite like a man who recognizing his own faults and problems and feels bad about them.

It also helps that this take on Reed Richards is making our favorite on-screen daddy a new father! The new trailer revealed Sue’s pregnancy and seeing Pedro Pascal prep for a new baby soothes the soul.

We just love Mr. Fantastic

There is something about Reed Richards that will forever be hot. Maybe it is the fact that he’s a leader but not one who forces the women around him to the sidelines. Sue is literally pregnant in this movie but we see shots of her fighting along with the rest of the team. And I love it!

I do think that part of the draw, for me, is the fact that it is Pedro Pascal. He’s a brilliant actor and someone who is just constantly putting out some amazing work. It helps that many thought he should have been the Sexiest Man Alive for the last two years running but hey, maybe it will be Reed Richards that finally puts him over the edge.

Whatever the reason is, I am excited to see what Pascal does with the role. Reed Richards isn’t an easy man to play. He’s so smart and sometimes that means he missing important social cues. He’s a leader but he’s flawed and now he’s about to be a dad for the first time. All of that is a lot to take on but if anyone can do it and make it hot, it is Pedro Pascal and he’s going to be great at it!

So until we get to see the team in action this summer, at least we know that we have a hot Reed Richards waiting for us when Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters.
