Cynthia Erivo is no stranger to completely devouring all her peers when it comes to vocal talent. Truly, no one can compare and that’s not even an exaggeration. Cynthia’s vocals shine brightest when she performs live, and we hope to be seated in the audience one day. For now, we’ll continue to replay our favorite live performances of hers and attempt our own vocal runs.

Here were five times that Cynthia Erivo blew us away with her show-stopping, tear-jerking vocals, including her brand-new solo music.

‘Worst Of Me’

This new song is certainly not the worst of Cynthia! Earlier this month Cynthia teased new music including this track, ‘Worst Of Me.’ Solo Cynthia music was not in our 2025 bingo card, but we’re totally here for it! This song is truly so beautiful and brings out the best in Cynthia’s vocal range. We hear her go low and go high and every moment in between is so stunning. Going into summer 2025 with Cynthia Erivo on our playlists? Best summer ever loading!

‘Defying Gravity’ At The 2025 Oscar’s

We think about this specific ‘Defying Gravity’ performance pretty much everyday, because how could you not? Like many who were watching the 2025 Oscars live, a tear (or two) were shed upon Cynthia singing ‘Defying Gravity’ alongside her Wicked costar Ariana Grande. This moment was so special and we find ourselves going back to listen to it time and time again. Not to mention, Cynthia looked absolutely gorgeous this night!

2025 Coachella Performance Feat. The LA Philharmonic

This moment truly made us regret not attending Coachella this year. Per usual, Cynthia completely captured the Coachella Weekend 2 audience with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. She blew everyone away with a gorgeous cover of Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ and made us fall in love with that song even more. Were you in the audience for this special moment?

‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ At The Kennedy Center

We were recently reminded that this performance exists and now we can’t stop thinking about it. So, we’re here to make sure all you honeybees are listening. Every note of this performance is filled with passion and soul, which Cynthia does effortlessly.

‘Stand Up’ From Harriett

We have to end on a high note (literally)! Since we saw Harriett in theaters for the first time, ‘Stand Up’ hasn’t left our memories, particularly this performance. 42 million other people would also agree that this performance is one to remember.

All 5 of these songs and performances just prove how versatile Cynthia Erivo is in her craft, and we are so grateful to call ourselves fans of hers. Let’s rewind – what did you think about Cynthia’s new solo music? Will you be tuning in to her album, I Forgive You, releasing on June 6th?

Pre-save I Forgive You here! We are so excited to hear all of Cynthia’s new songs!
