Megyn Kelly loves to share her opinion, especially when no one asked her. So it really isn’t that shocking that she took to the red carpet of the Time’s Most Influential People party to talk about Blake Lively and her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni.
Kelly, who was honored as a “leader” by Time Magazine, was on the carpet and spend her time only talking about Lively. Lively was being celebrated as a titan. Lively, as far as I can tell, did not talk about Kelly on the carpet but Kelly who is somehow a leader (she literally just complains on her own show) took her time to bring up Lively, Taylor Swift, and a lot of things she has not part in.
Variety spoke with Kelly on the carpet and the outlet labeled Lively’s inclusion in the celebration as “controversial.” On the contrary, I think that Kelly’s inclusion is the controversial side of the coin but that doesn’t matter. When she spoke with the outlet, Kelly shared her thoughts on Lively being there. She’s only here because she’s a celebrity.” And you’re just there because you’re loud and wrong so…
But Kelly went on to bring up Lively’s very famous friend: Taylor Swift. Swift has become an important figure in the Baldoni vs. Lively lawsuit. Mainly because the singer has, recently, stayed out of the situation with fans questioning her silence. Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni for allegedly launching a smear campaign against her during the press cycle for It Ends With Us.
Since, Baldoni has issued his own lawsuit and the two have gone back and forth with a court date set for 2026. It is alleged that Swift knows something about the situation with Lively and her song was featured in the film. Still, Kelly saw an opportunity to make something about her and took it.

Instead of talking about herself and her own inclusion at the party, Kelly kept talking about Lively and the lawsuit. She brought up texts where Lively called Swift “Khaleesi.” Kelly, clearly not knowing anything about Game of Thrones brought this up on the carpet.
“Either Taylor Swift is her dragon or she isn’t, I don’t know,” Kelly said to Variety. “That’s what Blake Lively said, so I guess I’ll have to take her at her word,” Kelly said. “So if I were Taylor, I’d speak out about it. But obviously she’s distancing herself.” There is no news that Swift is distancing herself. This is a legal matter, meaning often you cannot say something you want to.
Quite frankly, it is weird behavior. This is not one of those moments where Kelly was somehow a part of this. She is just a bystander giving her opinion on the situation. Which is fine but she has a whole show that she can do this on. Using the red carpet for the Time100 part is just tacky, especially when Lively is being honored.
