Hi Molly! Thank you so much for chatting with us! To start us off, if you were talking to someone who had never listened to your music, how would you describe your sound to them?
Hi, THP! Thank you for having me If I was talking to someone who had no idea who I was, I would describe myself as a funky pop diva whose music is playful, groovy, and makes you feel good about yourself.
Obviously we want to talk all things ‘F.E.M.M.E!’ This song has been all over social media since it was first teased; what has it been like seeing the way people have latched onto this track?
It’s been so overwhelming (in a positive way) to see how people have connected with the song. I’m actually on tour right now, and we just finished our NYC and Philly shows. Hearing sold out rooms screaming the lyrics to ‘F.E.M.M.E.’ has been so surreal and emotional; I can’t even describe it to you. It’s just the best feeling in the world.
And on the topic of people latching onto the track, we know there are so many people who have seen themselves in these lyrics. When it comes to that side of it, to people finding representation in your music, does that come with any pressure for you? How do you take that in?
First of all, it’s an honor. To impact people’s lives and journeys with themselves is all you could ever ask for as an artist and a songwriter. I do think there is a certain pressure that comes with it – a pressure to say exactly the right thing and represent your community in the perfect way. If there’s anything I’ve learned, it’s that I think people will always have something to say. All I can do is be authentically myself and keep educating myself on my community and the people who resonate with me will find me.
When we first heard ‘F.E.M.M.E,’ we immediately thought that it belongs on a coming of age/rom-com-esque soundtrack. So naturally we had to ask, if you could place this track on any movie soundtrack, which movie would you pair it with?
Oh, that is some high praise. I am such a coming-of-age movie fan. Ooh… I think I would place it in some campy queer movie like Bottoms, or Theater Camp.
We know you’re going on your But I’m A Pop Star tour! What all has gone into putting this show together? And where did the tour name come from?
Putting together this show has been so exciting because we’re doing a lot of new music. We’re also using tracks for the first time, so it’s super fun to figure out how we can take the show to the next level – adding interludes, silly bits in the tracks, intros, outros, things like that. The tour name is inspired by the classic film, But I’m a Cheerleader! That movie also inspired the ‘F.E.M.M.E.’ aesthetic, so I thought it would be a cute segway into the new era.
And speaking of tour! The Lovesick Tour looked like the absolute best time! Was there a song that took on a new life for you as you were able to perform it for fans?
It was such a blast. I actually just got the memory on my phone — about a year ago, we played our first show in Milwaukee. It’s crazy to see how we’ve grown. Definitely the song ‘Little Bit of Hell.’ People go crazy for it every time, and I had added it to the set list without thinking too much of it. It’s still one of my favorites to play
As we are writing these questions, you’ve just announced ‘Mad At Her Forever’ will be out next month! What can you tell us about this track?
Yes!! I am so, so, so excited for this song to come out. I don’t listen to my own music that often typically, but I listen to this song over and over. It’s a groovy, cheeky, pop-disco song. I think the fans are going to love it.

‘Here I Am’ came out in 2021, which means you’ve been putting out music for four years now! When you look back at the artist who released that track and the artist releasing ‘F.E.M.M.E,’ what would you say has been your biggest area of artistic growth?
Four years!! Wow!! That’s a great question; I feel like I’ve evolved leaps and bounds both as a person and as a musician and artist. I’d say the biggest difference is that I just really know who I am now. I came out, I found my personal style and voice, and I really love my artist project. I’m super proud of it.
Once again Molly, thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us! Before we let you go, as we are about a month and a half into 2025, is there any music centered goals you’re hoping to achieve this year?
Oh, of course! And thanks again for having me This year, I’m hoping to release an album, play a major festival, and open for an artist I really admire. It’s gonna be a good year, I think!
