Deniz Undav continued his impressive start in international football with both goals as Germany held on for a 2-1 win in Bosnia-Herzegovina tonight.

The Stuttgart striker has now scored three times in just two starts with his goals helping Julian Nagelsmann’s men establish a commanding half-time lead in Zenica.

Undav had another strike ruled out, as did Serge Gnabry, as the visitors looked to push home their advantage. But the third goal never came and Germany were hanging on a bit in the closing stages after veteran striker Edin Dzeko pulled one back with 20 minutes to go.

Germany now have a two-point lead at the top of Nations League A3 after the second-placed Netherlands were held to a 1-1 draw in Hungary.

Roland Sallai put the hosts ahead and it looked as though they may withstand a second-half barrage when the Oranje had captain Virgil van Dijk sent-off with 11 minutes to go.

But the impressive Denzel Dumfries popped up with the equaliser for the 10 men four minutes later.

Group B1 leaders Georgia were beaten 1-0 by Ukraine, who picked up their first points thanks to Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk’s first-half goal in Poznan.

Georgia are joined on six points by the Czech Republic with two goals from Tomas Chory proving enough to beat Albania 2-0.

Brennan Johnson scored for the seventh successive game for club and country but it wasn’t enough to propel Wales to victory in Iceland in B4.

Tottenham forward Johnson tapped in the opener in Reykjavik and Harry Wilson doubled the advantage after 29 minutes.

Craig Bellamy’s men could not hold on, however, and the hosts bossed a one-sided second-half. Substitute Logi Tomasson pulled one back and the same man then created the leveller with a run and shot that hit Wales goalkeeper Danny Ward and went in.

Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson almost completed the comeback late on but his shot hit the post.

Turkey top the pool with Irfan Kahveci scoring the only goal against Montenegro.

In C1, Slovakia and Sweden drew 2-2 while Estonia beat Azerbaijan 3-1.
