Victor Wembanyama didn’t experience much playoff intensity during his inaugural NBA season, as the San Antonio Spurs struggled with a 22-60 record.
However, he relished the opportunity to compete in the Olympics with the French national team over the summer, which provided a much-needed taste of high-stakes basketball.
As Michael C. Wright of ESPN reports, Wembanyama reflected on the experience, saying, “It was maybe the most intense sports experience in my life,” after coming away with a silver medal.
