Dreamcatcher has songs for everything and everyone, but there is one main thing they’re known for, and that they do better than anyone else in K-Pop: rock songs. From their debut, Dreamcatcher established a strong rock sound which, along with K-bands, pioneered rock in K-Pop as a whole, and Dreamcatcher has never drifted away from that unique sound. From b-sides to title tracks, Dreamcatcher always find a way to reinvent the genre and experiment with their sound. Here are some of the songs in Dreamcatcher‘s flawless discography that showcase their rock side better than anything else.

‘GOOD NIGHT’ (Nightmare · Fall Asleep in the Mirror, 2017)

Their debut with ‘Chase Me’ left a lasting impression and changed everyone forever, but with their first comeback with ‘GOOD NIGHT,’ Dreamcatcher truly established their sound and identity. ‘GOOD NIGHT’ somehow goes even harder than ‘Chase Me‘ did. Dreamcatcher made it clear that they didn’t come here to play around. Full of energy and dynamism, ‘GOOD NIGHT’ remains an icon of rock in K-Pop still to this day.

‘Don’t Light My Fire’ (Eclipse, 2021)

Dreamcatcher always go even harder with the Japanese releases, and we could genuinely include every single one of them in this list. With their Japanese discography, Dreamcatcher dips their toes more in metal while mixing with pop – ‘Don’t Light My Fire’ is a perfect example. ‘Don’t Light My Fire’ is full of Dreamcatcher’s aura, with its confidence and mystery but also its catchy melodies. It’s a unique song in their discography that anyone who loves rock would get obsessed with.

‘Break The Wall’ (Dystopia: Lose Myself, 2020)

2020 was an incredible year for Dreamcatcher as they explored new sounds and managed to mix their rock sound with EDM in ‘Scream‘ and reggeaton in ‘BOCA.’ But the rock song that truly stands out has to go to their b-side, ‘Break The Wall.’ This song has everything you would crave from Evanescence in 2020, but make it Dreamcatcher. ‘Break The Wall’ is beyond fierce. It mixes powerful and meaningful lyrics with killer vocals: it’s the perfect Dreamcatcher song.

‘The curse of the Spider – 2024 Concert Ver.’ (Luck Inside 7 Doors (2024 Concert Ver.), 2024)

‘The curse of the Spider,’ originally released in their 2019 mini-album Raid of Dream, has always been a fan favorite. With its impactful chorus, impeccable production, and truly iconic intro, ‘The curse of the Spider’ is a gem in Dreamcatcher‘s discography. And it became even more so when they rearranged it for their live performances in 2024, giving a more metal sound and making the song even more powerful than it already was.

‘REASON’ (2023)

Out of Dreamcatcher’s entire discography, one song stands out: ‘REASON.’ Released in honor of their sixth year together, after having renewed their contract, ‘REASON‘ is the best song to symbolize Dreamcatcher’s unique, hard-hitting rock sound, their incredible vocals, and their connection to their music and their fans. ‘REASON’ is not only an ode to the hard path Dreamcatcher had to walk on but also simply an incredible song that has everything you would want and need in a rock song: the instrumental, the striking vocals, and the feeling. Dreamcatcher, as vocalists, were made to sing rock, and it shows in ‘REASON.’ This song is a must when talking about Dreamcatcher and their music.
